Hey friend!
I have always been someone who loves to experience life and live each day to the fullest! I love exploring, making new friends, encouraging people to live to their potential and putting a smile on people’s faces! I figured this would be a fun way to incorporate all those things! I wanted to do this for a long time, but wasn’t sure how to begin. I realized I need to stop thinking about doing and actually make it happen. There will never be a perfect time to start something new. At some point, I just have to take a leap. So here I am!
I tend to be a person who likes to do things out of my comfort zone. If it scares me, I try it! For example, my biggest fear is drowning, but I became a lifeguard and then completed a triathlon...and I survived! ;) Let me tell ya, when I was training to be a lifeguard there were some moments where I didn’t think I could do it, but I kept going. There is nothing like the feeling you have after accomplishing something you didn’t think was possible!
From a young age, I always loved hiking. My grandpa, Opa, inspired my passion for hiking. From the time I could walk, we were always going on hikes together. I have an amazing family that instilled in me the love of traveling. I am close with my family, but adventure is in my veins, and took me cross country. I moved to North Carolina for my freshman year of college, then transferred to Seattle. I am not someone who sees to do things the "normal" way in life, but hey, it makes life more exciting! After I graduated I moved to Nashville, TN! I currently live in Franklin, TN (just outside Nashville), where I work as a mother baby nurse. I have 5 amazing housemates and most recently, one adorable bernedoodle puppy named Oakley!
The question “what do you do for fun” is a hard one for me because I love trying new experiences. Growing up, I was involved in all kinds of activities from, sports to choir to musical theater and I enjoyed all those experiences. My freshman year of high school, I started the sport rowing at Los Gatos rowing club. Rowing became my life all through high school and into college. What do I do for fun now? Well, not much has changed! I love being active and anything outdoors (hikes, kayaking, picnics, stargazing, etc), playing sports, participating in races, like runs, triathlons and tough mudders, etc, going to concerts, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, exploring new cities, reading, and the list goes on. What I found over the years, is that being active, outside, and in nature makes me feel most alive! My faith in Jesus is the most important to me and there is something about being in nature that brings me closer to God!
I am probably the most directionally challenged person I know, but I always end up where I need to be. I don’t call it getting lost, I call it taking the adventurous route! I also tend to be someone who remembers how I felt about my experiences, but not always the details. Now, I have to be intentional with remembering and recording the details and hopefully will also bring YOU some fun suggestions and ideas!
I want this to be a place to document my adventures and what I have learned along the way. My ultimate desire is that this can inspire you to get out and adventure, to live life to the fullest, and to put a smile on your face! I want to go on this journey with YOU!
